Sample answer

Study the organization, not the script

Dear Ms. Patel, I am writing about the schedule change posted this afternoon for Saturday. My shift has been moved from 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. with less than two days' notice. Unfortunately, I have a family commitment on Saturday evening that was arranged several weeks ago based on the original schedule. I understand that staffing needs can change, and I am willing to help find a solution. Would it be possible for me to keep the morning shift this Saturday or exchange with a coworker who prefers the evening shift? I can also take an evening shift next weekend if that would help balance the schedule. Thank you for considering my request. Best regards, Jordan Lee
