From: Building Services Subject: Bicycle Storage Update Beginning Monday, the bicycle room beside the east entrance will close for five days while new security cameras and wall racks are installed. Residents who normally use that room may temporarily store bicycles in the marked section of Parking Level 2. Please do not leave bicycles in hallways or beside emergency exits. Residents using the temporary area should bring their own lock because the building will not provide individual bicycle locks.

What should a resident do if they need bicycle storage during the closure?

Task 1 · Writing an Email

Your apartment building has announced that the shared laundry room will close at 8:00 p.m. instead of 11:00 p.m. starting next month. The new hours are difficult for residents who work evening shifts.

Write an email to the building manager. In your email:

  • explain why the new hours are a problem for you;
  • describe how the change may affect other residents;
  • suggest a practical solution to the building manager.

Target about 150–200 words. This is original MyCELPIP teaching material, not an official CELPIP question.

Illustrative Speaking feedback

See the kind of feedback you get after a recorded response

MyCELPIP organizes Speaking practice feedback around CELPIP's four published performance dimensions: Content/Coherence, Vocabulary, Listenability and Task Fulfillment. The sample beside this text is illustrative product copy so you can understand the feedback format before creating an account.

It is not a real learner record, an official CELPIP rating or a guaranteed test-day score. Authenticated practice may also surface speech-delivery observations such as pacing or long pauses when those signals help explain a weakness.

Speaking Task 1 — Giving Advice

Illustrative feedback preview

Preparation estimate only

Content / Coherence

Clear advice with two developed reasons; strengthen the second example so the response feels fully supported.

Vocabulary

Natural workplace language; replace repeated general words with more precise choices where they add meaning.

Listenability

Mostly steady pace and clear delivery; shorten two long pauses and avoid rushing the closing sentence.

Task Fulfillment

Directly addresses the listener and gives practical advice; finish with a clearer supportive recommendation.

Next-practice recommendation

Record a fresh Task 1 response and develop each piece of advice with one concrete reason or example while keeping the closing concise and supportive.
