Quick answer: how CELPIP scores map to CLB
For CELPIP levels 4 through 12, the CELPIP level maps directly to the same-number Canadian Language Benchmark. CELPIP 9 = CLB 9, CELPIP 10 = CLB 10, and so on. The current official chart also shows an important lower-level exception: CELPIP Level 2 corresponds to CLB 1 or 2, while Levels 1 and 0 do not have a CLB equivalency. CELPIP reports Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking separately, so check each ability on its own.
CELPIP Listening score chart out of 38
CELPIP publishes the following example ranges showing how Listening raw scores can approximately correspond to CELPIP levels. These are not fixed cutoffs: CELPIP states that question difficulty and test-form equating can shift the raw score required for a level.

Example: 30/38 sits inside CELPIP's published approximate Level 8 range, while 33–35 overlaps the published Level 9 range. Treat that as orientation, not a promise of your official result.
CELPIP Reading score chart out of 38
CELPIP publishes a separate approximate Reading chart. Listening and Reading use different example ranges, so the same raw score does not necessarily imply the same level in both skills.

Do not use the CELPIP “Average Score” as your CLB
CELPIP's current FAQ says the Average Score on a score report does not equate to a CLB level. For immigration and citizenship planning, use each component result separately and follow the rules of the organization receiving your scores.
What does CELPIP 9 mean?
A CELPIP level of 9 in one ability maps to CLB 9 in that ability. A result such as L10 / R9 / W8 / S9 therefore does not mean CLB 9 in all four skills; Writing remains CLB 8.

CELPIP currently allows a re-evaluation request within six months of the test date. Its official policy says Listening and Reading changes are unlikely because those components are computer rated; Speaking and Writing are the components where a human-scored re-evaluation question is usually more relevant. CELPIP says re-evaluation results are normally communicated in approximately 1–2 weeks, only one re-evaluation is allowed per component, and requests cannot be cancelled after submission.
Do not assume a re-evaluation will increase a score. Community anecdotes can show that increases happen, but they do not provide a reliable probability for your case.
