Practice prompt

Try the question before reading the model

A family is setting up a picnic while dark clouds approach. Predict what will happen next.

Response plan

Visible clue → prediction → reason/consequence → second clue → second prediction

Original sample answer

I think the family will start packing the food back into their bags very soon. The sky behind them is becoming dark, and the wind appears to be getting stronger, so rain is probably approaching. The parents may ask the children to collect the toys while they move the cooler and blankets toward the car. If the rain begins suddenly, they will likely take shelter in the nearby pavilion instead of leaving immediately. I also expect the park to become quieter because the other families in the background will probably make the same decision.

What to learn from this sample

Notice the order of ideas and how each sentence moves the response toward the task goal.

Development

Look for reasons, consequences, examples and concrete details rather than repeated claims.

Vocabulary

Study precise language in context, then replace it with vocabulary that fits your own fresh prompt.

Check whether every part of the prompt is answered directly and with an appropriate tone.

The next step is a fresh response

A sample only helps if the organization transfers to a different topic. Open a fresh MyCELPIP task, answer without looking at the model, then compare your structure and development.
