If you are checking the CELPIP test fee in Canada, do not rely on one static number without verifying the booking flow. In our August 15, 2026 review, official CELPIP pages are showing different fee amounts at the same time.

Why do official CELPIP pages show different prices?

A website can update product, overview, FAQ and registration pages on different schedules. During this review, newer overview/test-format information and product-specific pages were not displaying the same Canadian fee.

That means it would be misleading for MyCELPIP to label either pair as a universally current checkout price until CELPIP's published pages agree.

The practical hierarchy is:

  1. official live registration checkout for your selected test/location/date;
  2. current official CELPIP test-format/product pages;
  3. third-party preparation articles only as a navigation aid.

The official Test Format/newer overview information reviewed on August 15 displays CAD $295 plus applicable taxes for CELPIP-General.

The separate official CELPIP-General product page reviewed the same day still displays CAD $290 plus applicable taxes.

CELPIP-General tests all four skills:

  • Reading;
  • Writing;
  • Speaking.

If you are using CELPIP for Express Entry, IRCC currently specifies CELPIP-General, not General LS.

CELPIP-General LS fee pages in August 2026

The official Test Format page reviewed on August 15 displays CAD $199 plus applicable taxes for CELPIP-General LS, while product-specific General LS information still shows CAD $195 plus applicable taxes.

General LS tests only:

  • Listening;
  • Speaking.

Do not choose a test version based only on the lower fee. Confirm which version your receiving organization accepts.

Are taxes included?

The Canadian fees on the official pages are displayed as the test fee plus applicable taxes. Your final total can therefore be higher than the base fee shown on a page.

Is CELPIP cheaper than IELTS or PTE Core?

Prices can change and can vary by test provider and location. A comparison becomes stale quickly, so price should be checked close to the booking date.

Before choosing, confirm:

  1. the exact test version accepted for your purpose;
  2. the current checkout price;
  3. available dates and locations;
  4. travel cost;
  5. which test format gives you the strongest reliable result.
