• Was the official result materially below several recent realistic timed performances?
• Did you complete the tasks normally without a technical interruption?
• Would even a one-level increase materially affect your immigration, licensing or other target?
• Can your timeline tolerate the approximate one-to-two-week re-evaluation process?
• Have you already used the one allowed re-evaluation for that component?

If your recent practice repeatedly shows the same weakness as the official result, targeted repair and a retest may be more useful than relying on a score change.

Use Writing practice or Speaking practice to build fresh evidence before deciding.

Listening and Reading re-evaluation

CELPIP explicitly says a score change in Listening or Reading is unlikely because those components are computer rated.

If fresh practice shows repeatable errors, the stronger preparation response is usually to identify the weak part, repair it, and verify the change on new material.

A test-day issue is not the same as re-evaluation

If there was a technical or test-day problem that may have affected your performance, CELPIP's current contact guidance says to report it to test-centre personnel immediately and submit the issue through your CELPIP Account within 24 hours of the test.

Do not wait for the score to arrive and then treat a technical incident only as a re-evaluation question. CELPIP says no corrective action will be taken for issues reported after scores are released or more than 24 hours after the test sitting, whichever comes first.

Re-evaluation or retake?

• the component is Writing or Speaking;
• the result is unexpectedly inconsistent with stable recent evidence;
• one level would materially change the outcome you are pursuing;
• the timing fits your deadline;
