Sample answer

Study the organization, not the script

Hi, I wanted to talk to you about the music at night. I completely understand that you want to relax at home, but the volume has been very loud after eleven o'clock several times this week, and I have to get up early for work. Would you mind lowering it after ten on weekdays? If you are having friends over on the weekend, a quick message would also help me plan ahead. I do not want to make this uncomfortable, and I am sure we can find a reasonable balance. I would really appreciate your help keeping the building quieter late at night.

What to notice

Describe behavior, not the person's character

Make the request specific

Use respectful compromise language
