CELPIP Test Dates 2026: Find Available Dates
By MyCELPIP Editorial Team · Updated September 4, 2026
CELPIP test dates 2026 — quick answer: there is no reliable static calendar that can tell every candidate the next available CELPIP date. Availability depends on country, city, test type and remaining capacity, so the correct source is the official live Find a Test Date tool.
CELPIP's current FAQs state that registration for a sitting closes one business day before the test or when the sitting reaches capacity, whichever happens first. They also state that dates, times and locations can change. That is why this page does not publish a copied list that may be stale tomorrow.
How to find the next available CELPIP date
- Open the official CELPIP test-date finder.
- Choose the correct country/region.
- Select or search the city/location that is practical for you.
- Confirm the correct test version.
- Compare more than one sitting before booking.
- Open the final registration details and verify the date, time, location and current fee.
If your preferred date is full, check nearby locations only if the travel plan is realistic.
Do not choose the first available date automatically
The earliest sitting is not always the best sitting. Your date should leave enough time for:
- targeted preparation;
- official result release;
- a possible re-evaluation or retake decision if relevant;
- the external immigration, school or professional deadline;
- travel to the test centre.
CELPIP's Results page currently says scores are normally accessible online in 2–4 business days. Build extra margin around an important application deadline rather than booking a test so late that one delay creates a crisis.
A practical date-selection rule
Choose a test date only after answering these questions:
Is this the correct test version?
For Express Entry, IRCC currently requires CELPIP-General if you use CELPIP. General LS does not provide all four skills.
Can I reach the centre comfortably?
Check route, travel time, parking/transit and morning reliability. A slightly later date at a much easier location can be a better decision than a very early date with risky travel.
Is my preparation evidence close to target?
If your latest fresh mock is far below target in two skills, an extra week of targeted work may be more valuable than rushing into the first opening.
Is there enough deadline buffer?
Do not plan on the fastest possible result release. Use a conservative buffer around immigration or other submission deadlines.
If the date you want is full
Capacity changes by location and sitting. Practical options are:
- check another authorized centre in the same region;
- check a later date;
- use the extra time for targeted preparation;
- keep your travel cost and fatigue in the decision.
Avoid unofficial “guaranteed seat” sellers. Register through the official CELPIP flow.
How early should you book?
CELPIP recommends registering well in advance because centres have limited capacity and requests are processed in the order received.
That recommendation matters more than the formal one-business-day closing rule. A sitting can close earlier simply because it becomes full.
If you have a fixed application deadline, work backward from:
application deadline → result buffer → test date → preparation period → booking date
rather than choosing a test first and hoping everything fits afterward.
Changing or cancelling a date
Current CELPIP FAQs say that cancellation and transfer rules depend on how far in advance the request is made. They currently use a seven-calendar-day threshold for standard cancellation/transfer rules. Policies and fees can change, so verify the current details inside CELPIP's official FAQ/account before acting.
This is another reason to choose the original date carefully.
Retake timing is not the same as preparation timing
CELPIP currently says you may register for no more than one test session within five calendar days. That rule does not mean taking another test five days later is automatically a good strategy. CELPIP itself recommends additional studying before a retake.
If a retake is necessary, diagnose the weak task types first and use the available time deliberately.
A booking-to-test study timeline
Four or more weeks before
Take a diagnostic and build the plan around your weakest skills.
Two to four weeks before
Increase timed practice. Use one or two full mocks separated by targeted repair.
Final week
Stabilize timing and response frameworks. Confirm route, ID and arrival instructions.
Day before
Do light review, confirm the official sitting details and avoid changing your entire strategy.

Frequently asked questions
Where can I see current CELPIP test dates?

When does CELPIP registration close?
CELPIP's current FAQs say a sitting closes one business day before the test or earlier when maximum capacity is reached.
Can CELPIP test dates change?
Yes. CELPIP states that test dates, times and locations are subject to change and registered candidates are notified if changes are required.
How long after the test do results normally take?
The current CELPIP Results page states 2–4 business days for online scores. Leave additional margin for an important external deadline.
How soon can I retake CELPIP?
CELPIP currently says you may register for no more than one test session within five calendar days. That is a policy limit, not a recommendation to retake immediately.
MyCELPIP does not control official test dates, capacity or registration. Always use the live CELPIP booking system as the source of truth.
