CELPIP Final Week Checklist: What to Practice 7 Days Before Test Day
The final week before CELPIP is usually a poor time to rebuild your entire English system. The goal is to stabilize the strategies you already use, remove avoidable test-day errors, and protect your energy.
Seven days before — full diagnostic
Take one complete realistic mock test.
Write down only the largest problems:
- which Listening part lost the most answers;
- which Reading part used too much time;
- whether Writing Task 1 or 2 felt rushed;
- which Speaking task became disorganized.
Do not respond by taking another full mock the next morning. Repair the evidence first.
Six days before — weakest receptive skill
Work on either Listening or Reading, whichever showed the clearest weakness.
Keep the session task-specific. If Reading Part 4 is the problem, do Part 4 rather than four random passages.
Five days before — weakest productive skill
Complete timed Writing or Speaking practice and review the response against the official performance dimensions.
For Writing, focus on Content/Coherence, Vocabulary, Readability, and Task Fulfillment.
For Speaking, focus on Content/Coherence, Vocabulary, Listenability, and Task Fulfillment.
Four days before — mixed timed practice
Combine shorter sections from multiple skills. Practice switching from one task type to another without a long break.
Three days before — second simulation
Take another full mock test. Compare it with the first one.
If a weakness improved, do not keep attacking it simply because it used to be weak. Focus on the current evidence.
Two days before — controlled review
Do one or two short targeted sessions. Avoid exhausting yourself with repeated full tests.
Review:
- task names and instructions;
- your note-taking shorthand;
- Writing structures;
- Speaking planning method;
- the errors that still repeat.
One day before — readiness, not cramming
Confirm your official test appointment details directly through CELPIP and the test centre information provided to you.
Prepare any required identification and travel plan. Avoid relying on a third-party article for test-centre rules that could change.
If you want a short language warm-up, keep it light: one Listening clip, one Reading set, one Writing outline, and two short Speaking recordings are enough.
Test-day recovery rule
One difficult question or one awkward Speaking sentence does not decide the entire exam.
Practice this response to mistakes:
notice → choose/correct if possible → continue.
Do not spend the next several questions mentally replaying the mistake.
For current test structure, review the CELPIP-General Guide 2026. For skill-specific refreshers, use Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.
