[Phone ringing]
Sarah: Hello?
Marcus: Hey Sarah, it's Marcus from unit 304. Sorry to bother you, but I wanted to talk about the noise situation.
Sarah: Oh, hi Marcus. Is everything okay?
Marcus: Honestly, not really. The music from the apartment above mine — I think it's 404 — has been pretty loud for the past three evenings. It usually starts around 9 PM and goes until midnight or later. I work early shifts, so it's really affecting my sleep.
Sarah: I'm so sorry to hear that. Have you tried speaking to the person in 404 directly?
Marcus: I knocked twice last week but nobody answered. I left a note under the door, but nothing changed.
Sarah: Okay. I'll contact the building manager first thing tomorrow morning. They can send an official noise warning. If that doesn't resolve it within 48 hours, the next step would be filing a formal noise complaint with the property management office.
Marcus: That sounds reasonable. Should I document the noise in the meantime?
Sarah: Yes, definitely. Keep a log — the dates, times, and how long it lasts. That will really help if we need to escalate things.
Marcus: Got it. Thanks, Sarah. I appreciate your help.
Sarah: Of course. We'll get this sorted out.

CELPIP Listening tips
- •In the real test, read questions before the audio plays so you know what to listen for.
- •Note names, numbers, and times — questions often hinge on these details.
- •The audio plays once. Don't dwell on a missed detail — move forward.
